Meet Elize
Elize is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, a member of Dietitians New Zealand, and the past president of the Auckland branch of Dietitians New Zealand. She’s also co-convenor of the Bariatric Special Interest Group.
Graduating Massey University with a BSc with first-class honours, Elize then worked towards her MHSc in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Auckland before kicking off her working career developing and then teaching courses in chemistry, nutritional biochemistry, clinical, and human nutrition. Elize then moved into a clinical role with the Waitemata DHB as a hospital dietitian, working across Waitakere and North Shore hospitals in a variety of specialities. She set up her own full-time private practice in 2018, predominantly specialising in gastroenterology, bariatric surgery, disordered eating, general nutrition, and healthy eating advice. Elize has in-depth knowledge of nutritional research, gut health, bariatric surgery including 2+ years post-surgery care, weight regain and pregnancy nutrition, and disordered eating. She advocates for and facilitates positive behavioural change using both client-focused and evidence-based approaches. |
